1. Create your FSA ID
2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on or after 10/1/18
3. Review the Student Aid Report (SAR)
4. Submit paperwork as requested by the Financial Aid Office at the college
5. Review your Financial Aid Award Notification
6. Complete the Federal Student Loan MPN (Master Promissory Note)

Federal Student Aid Programs:
Grants:
Federal Pell Grants-Available for undergraduate students only.
Grants do not have to be repaid. Pell Grant awards for the
2019-2020 award year (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020) will have a maximum amount per year
of $6,195.00. ($3,097.50 per semester for this first year). This grant can be awarded for a maximum of 12 semesters or the equivalent to six years.
Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grants:
Grants that provide up to $4,000 a year for undergraduate or graduate students who
are completing coursework to become an elementary or secondary school teacher in
a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low
income families and meets other requirements. For more information, go to

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants: For students who parent or guardian died as
a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after 9/11/2001, and who, at the
time of the parent or guardian's death were less than 24 years old or were enrolled
in at least part-time at an institution of higher education. The grant is for students
who are not Pell-eligible. Students may receive up to $S5,920.00. For more

Campus-Based Programs:
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants - Available for undergraduate
students only; awards range from $100-$4000 based on financial need.
Federal Work-Study - Provides part-time jobs to undergraduate, graduate or professional
students, allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses. You can earn
at least minimum wage.

William D. Ford Federal Direct Stafford Loans - Loans that must be repaid and are
available to both undergraduate and graduate students. Subsidized (government
pays interest) and Unsubsidized (you pay the interest).
Direct PLUS Loans - Loans that are unsubsidized and made to parents of
dependent undergraduate students and to graduate and professional students.
1st year: $5,500 ($3,500 max can be subsidized)
2nd year: $6,500 ($4,500 max can be subsidized)
3rd year: $7,500 ($5,500 max can be subsidized)
Maximum Total Debt From Stafford Loans: $31,000 ($23,000 max can be subsidized)

Veterans and Children of Veterans: Eligible veteran or the dependent of an eligible
veteran may receive funds to cover a portion of the education expenses.
Educational benefits are usually paid directly to the recipient on a monthly basis.
Rehabilitation Services: Provides opportunities for Arkansas with disabilities to lead
productive and independent lives. The Arkansas Career Training Institute provides
vocational training and employment opportunities to adult clients with disabilities.
